Michigan Intl Speedway
NASCAR's best drivers battle it out in the Irish Hills of Michigan during the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400. The Lifelock 400 is the beginning race for the Michigan International Speedway’s racing season.
Michigan International Speedway is one of NASCAR’s fastest tracks. But there is some confusion. Michigan International Speedway now hosts two 400 mile NASCAR events. The first, occurring in mid-June, is the Lifelock 400. The second comes later in the season and is known as the 3M Performance 400. Both are showcases for NASCAR and breathtaking displays of unadulterated speed at one of the sports finest tracks.
This track is big, wide, and fast. Topping 200 is as routine as Sunday breakfast. Besides NASCAR, you’ll also find Indy Racing at Michigan International Speedway, along with Craftsman Truck and Nationwide Series.
Michigan International Speedway made its NASCAR Grand National debut on June 15, 1969. Cale Yarborough gave the field the “Mercury Blues” by taking the checkered flag. Michigan International Speedway is a favorite track among drivers, who enjoy its wide surface that allows them to choose the most effective line for them to compete for NASCAR glory.
